Berry Pie and Berry Dessert Contest

Bring out your favorite family recipes and enter them in this new contest.

There are two categories in which to showcase some of Minnesota's favorite berriess.

Entries will be divided into two classes:

Class 01: Youth (12 and younger)

Class 02: Adult

    Berry Pies will be judged/rated using the following criteria:
  1. All crusts must be made from scratch;
  2. Appearance of crust;
  3. Taste of Crust;
  4. Taste and texture of filling;
  5. Overall pie
    Berry Desserts will be judged/rated using the following criteria:
  1. Any ingredients not made from scratch must be identified;
  2. Overall appearance;
  3. Moistness or crumb texture;
  4. Flavor;
  5. Creativity (use of ingredients and appearance)

Entries may be brought to the Home Activities Building on Saturday, July 14, between 10:00 am and 11:00 am. Judging will begin at 11:30 am by a panel of three judges. Be sure to bring a copy of your recipe. Contestants may watch the judging.

Premiums awarded in each class (in the form of gift certificates): 1st - $10; 2nd - $7; 3rd - $5
